Study Task 5

The purpose of this visual journal is to delve deeper into Liverpool’s culture, focusing on how it has changed, been shaped over time and what role the story of the Liverbirds has played in that. It also draws upon both primary and secondary sources. Furthermore, this blog will be a critical and analytical reflection on the practical work produced.

The research was also successful to some degree, although more could have been done  to investigate the themes in different ways. This could have been prevented by thinking and planning ahead, which would have given more structure to the investigation. For instance, this would have allowed time to interview people on the streets about what they thought of Liverpool. Certain buildings could have been researched and looked into in more depth, such as obtaining the original construction plans, seeing how they have developed and changed over time. The research that was done was informative, showing a lot about architecture and how different cities are influenced by each other. Overall the work produced for this project was to a high standard and showed understanding of the themes and context of practice.
